The Church of Santa Catalina Mártir, in the former convent of Santo Domingo in the capital, hosts the performance of «Don Juan Tenorio», by José Zorrilla, on October 31 and November 1. It is the first cultural event held in the temple since its recent opening, according to the Diputación de Jaén.

Two shows and one hundred seats

There will be two performances: on October 31 at 21.00 hours and on November 1 at 20.00 hours. Each show has a capacity limited to 100 people. Tickets can be purchased through the Giglon portal.

An adaptation with Jaén direction

The play is directed by the Jaén filmmaker Carlos Aceituno and the cast includes artists such as Álvaro Vega, Cristina Mediero and Antonio Gutiérrez, among others. Aceituno has described the proposal as «an immersive experience» in which the closeness to the performers, the setting, the lighting and the stage space itself will help the audience feel part of the story. The director has explained that the work to stage this play has been underway for four years.

Presentation

The third vice-president and deputy for Culture and Sports, África Colomo, took part in the presentation of this adaptation together with the director and the Jaén actress Cristina Mediero. Colomo stressed that the play is part of the collective imagination and is linked to the dates around the All Saints' Day holiday.

Tickets

Tickets for the two performances are purchased through the Giglon portal. The capacity of each show is limited to 100 people.
