The fourteenth edition of the march «Jaén se viste de rosa» takes place on Sunday, October 25, from 11:00 a.m., with start and finish on calle Virgen de la Cabeza. People of all ages can take part and the slogan is again «Sin ti no será igual».

What you have to do to take part

It is not necessary to register. Anyone who wants to join can wear the commemorative pink T-shirt, which costs six euros, or the special edition, at ten euros, intended to raise funds for research. They can be bought from Monday to Thursday at the headquarters of the Asociación Jiennense de Cáncer de Mama (Ajicam), at calle San Antonio number 4, from 10:30 to 13:00, and between October 19 and 23 also from six to eight in the evening. They will be available on the day of the march itself.

Route and activities

The route starts on calle Virgen de la Cabeza and goes through Plaza de los Perfumes, Avenida Andalucía, Avenida de Arjona, Avenida de Barcelona, calle Goya, calle Eduardo García Maroto and Plaza de los Perfumes, to finish again on Virgen de la Cabeza. When the march ends there will be activities in Plaza Empresario Diego Torres, a manifesto will be read and balloons will be released. During the event Ajicam will sell merchandising to raise funds.

Health demand

The mayor of Jaén, Julio Millán, has called for people «to take to the streets this Sunday to accompany the association and above all these women affected by breast cancer so they see that they are not alone». The councillor for Sports, Beatriz López, has said that the march «makes more sense than ever» and has criticised the fact that women are forced to be brave also «in the face of the Administration's screening failures». The president of Ajicam, Gema Liébana, has defended a public health system «in which there are no waiting lists» for tests and treatments and has called for boosting early diagnosis.
