The Bishop concludes in Mancha Real the first two days of the visit to the Arciprestazgo de Mágina
Sebastián Chico Martínez has toured the parishes of La Encarnación and San Juan Evangelista on October 15 and 16, with visits to the sick, the Town Hall and social centres. The visit to the Arciprestazgo will continue until December.
The Bishop of Jaén, Sebastián Chico Martínez, has spent October 15 and 16 in Mancha Real, where the Pastoral Visit to the Arciprestazgo de Mágina has begun. According to the Diocese of Jaén, the two days have been divided between the parishes of La Encarnación and San Juan Evangelista.
Visits to the sick and the Town Hall
During his stay, the bishop has visited several sick people in their homes. He has also toured places in the municipality such as the hermitages, among them that of San Marcos, patron saint of Mancha Real, the parish centres and the cemetery, where he prayed for the faithful departed.
At the Town Hall he was received by the mayor, María del Mar, and by members of the Municipal Corporation. He also went to the day centre and the APROMSI facilities to learn about the care provided to the people who live there. The tour included the Escuelas Virgen de la Cabeza and Convento and a meeting with the Hermanas Misioneras de Acción Parroquial.
Meetings with young people and catechists
The Diocese notes that there have been meetings with children, adolescents and young people from both parishes, as well as with catechists, pastoral agents and representatives of the brotherhoods. The Pastoral and Economic Affairs councils of each parish have also met.
The central moment of each day was the Seasonal Mass presided over by the bishop in each of the parishes. He was accompanied by the parish priest Juan Antonio Marín, the parish vicar Agustín Mbuyu and the secretary of the Pastoral Visit, Francisco Javier Cova.
Until December
With these two days the Pastoral Visit to the Arciprestazgo de Mágina begins, which will continue until December. The portal reported on October 16 that the tour of the parishes of the Arciprestazgo extends until December 17 and that, after Mancha Real, it will continue through towns such as Jódar, Huelma and Pegalajar.
