Cazorla receives a distinction from the Andalusian mountain federation for its support of outdoor sport

The Cazorla Town Council has received an institutional distinction at the XIV Andalusian Mountain Sports Gala, an event organised by the Andalusian Federation of Mountain Sports, Climbing and Hiking (FADMES). The recognition values the municipality's support for sport in nature and active tourism.

According to the Town Council, the distinction highlights the natural conditions of Cazorla and its surroundings for practising mountaineering, climbing and hiking. The council considers that these disciplines help to foster healthy lifestyle habits and to project the municipality as a destination for those who practise outdoor sport. The Councillor for Sports, Juan Benavente, has stated that «receiving this distinction is a source of pride for Cazorla and an endorsement of the work we have been doing to promote sport in contact with nature». Benavente has added that mountain sport is an opportunity to attract visitors and contribute to the tourism and economic development of the municipality.

The Town Council has extended its congratulations to all the people and entities recognised during the gala, as well as its gratitude to FADMES for its work in promoting mountain sports in Andalusia. The council frames this line of work within the Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda.
