Entries open for the III Sierra de Segura Olive Grove Photography Competition
The Asociación para el Desarrollo Rural de la Sierra de Segura announces the III Photography Competition «El olivar de la Sierra de Segura», which can be entered until October 25, 2026. Works are sent by email to aceitefotografia@gmail.com.
The competition seeks images that show any aspect of the olive groves of the region: the landscape, the product, maintenance work or any activity linked to olive-growing culture. According to the Asociación para el Desarrollo Rural (ADR) Sierra de Segura, the aim is to make the beauty of these landscapes known and to value the work behind them.
How to take part
Photographs are sent by email to aceitefotografia@gmail.com. The deadline for submitting them is open from October 1 to 25, 2026, according to the call's details.
The olive grove as inspiration
The ADR Sierra de Segura notes that the olive grove is, in addition to a source of income for many families in the region, a source of inspiration for artists and creators: painters, novelists, photographers, poets, filmmakers and sculptors. The competition draws on that dual dimension, economic and cultural, of the olive-growing landscape.
Who organises it
Organised by the Asociación para el Desarrollo Rural de la Sierra de Segura, in collaboration with the Consejo Regulador de la Denominación de Origen Sierra de Segura and the Diputación Provincial de Jaén. The ADR Sierra de Segura is the rural development group that coordinates projects in the municipalities of the region, such as the regional 7-a-side football league that got underway on October 17 in Orcera or the attendance of women from the region at the provincial meeting in Vilches on October 15.
