Books stop being books in Martos. From this Wednesday, November 4, until the 20th, the Sala de exposiciones of the Casa Municipal de Cultura Francisco Delicado hosts the show «Libros de Artista 2026», in which the exhibited pieces abandon the traditional format to become three-dimensional works of art.
The exhibition can be visited during working hours, Monday to Friday. The official opening is scheduled for this same Wednesday, November 4, at 19:00.
The common thread of this edition is the poem «Almanaques», by the poet Ángeles Mora. Based on its verses, the participating artists reinterpret the emotions of the text, merging paper, design, technique and visual narrative, according to the Ayuntamiento de Martos.
The show is organized by the Universidad de Jaén (UJA), which thus brings to the city a collection of pieces where manual work and design are placed at the service of the word.
A date with the book as object
Anyone who comes these days to the Casa Municipal de Cultura Francisco Delicado will find a type of creation not usually seen on shelves: books conceived as sculptures, where form and materials count as much as content. The event starts this Wednesday afternoon and runs for a little more than two weeks.
No prior registration is needed to visit it: just come during the center's opening hours, Monday to Friday during working hours, between November 4 and 20.
