La Carolina will host, on November 9 and 10, the VII Andalusian Congress of Tourist Information, organized by the Chair of Inland Tourism of the University of Jaén (UJA). Around 70 professionals from the tourism sector from different parts of Andalusia and other autonomous communities are expected to take part in the meeting. A program focused on technology and the new regulations

The two days will address digital transformation and the application of artificial intelligence, the development of tourism intelligence systems, the measurement of the value generated by tourist offices, sustainability and the evolution of professional profiles. The implications of the Draft Law on Sustainable Tourism of Andalusia for tourist offices and visitor centers will also be analyzed. The opening lecture will be given by Estrella Díaz Sánchez, general director of Tourism and Hospitality Planning of the Junta de Andalucía. Among the speakers are Eva Ballarín, researcher of tourism trends and member of the National Tourism Council of Spain; Miguel Ángel Catalán, director of the Smart Office DTI of the Finestrat City Council; Dani Caro, head of the Andalucía Nexus Department, and Olga Broto, CEO and founder of Materia Naranja. The program also includes two round tables with institutional representatives, universities and specialized companies. The congress returns after twenty years. It was born in the late nineties and held six meetings in Andújar, Vera, Carmona, Mijas, Alhama de Granada and Isla Cristina, where the last edition took place in March 2006. The organization has the collaboration of the La Carolina City Council and the support of the Ministry of Tourism, Justice, Deregulation and Local Administration of the Junta de Andalucía, within the framework of the Network of Tourism Chairs of Andalusia. In addition to the working sessions, the program includes exchange activities among the participants, a guided tour of the town and a gastronomic proposal linked to partridge and the hunting tradition of the area.
