Hotel occupancy in Jaén capital exceeded 96 percent during the Feria de San Lucas 2026, according to data collected by the Oficina de Turismo and announced by the Ayuntamiento. The figure held both in the first days of the fair, which coincided with the Puente del Pilar (from October 9 to 12), and on the last weekend, that of October 18, the feast of San Lucas.

Origin of visitors

The Oficina de Turismo assisted 838 people over the course of the fair. Of these, 776 were of Spanish nationality and 62 foreign. By regions, Madrid led the arrival of tourists with 95 people registered, followed by Andalucía, with a notable presence of visitors from the province, Córdoba (74) and Cádiz (56). From Castilla-La Mancha, 64 people from the province of Ciudad Real were assisted; from the Comunidad Valenciana, 58 from Alicante and 45 from Valencia, and from Canarias, 56. Among the foreign tourists, those from France (18), Great Britain (11), the Netherlands (10) and Germany (8) stood out, along with visitors from the United States, Canada and Asia.

The Castillo de Santa Catalina, the most visited site

The Castillo de Santa Catalina received 1,797 visitors during the nine days of the fair, according to municipal data. The concejala de Turismo, María Espejo, has stated that "these data of full hotel occupancy confirm that Jaén capital is at an extraordinary moment of tourist attraction." Espejo added that the Castillo de Santa Catalina and the Oficina de Turismo "have worked at full capacity."

Programme and forecasts

The concejala has linked these results to the programme of the Patronato de Cultura, with concerts and festivals at the Auditorio de La Alameda and other shows in the capital's performance venues, such as the zarzuela, children's theatre and music in the streets. Before the fair, sector estimates (TURJAEN) put tourist occupancy in the capital at 91.77 percent.
