The Junta de Andalucía has deactivated the Emergency Plan for Flood Risk after DANA Adam lost strength and the adverse weather warnings disappeared in the eight provinces. The storm leaves 696 incidents handled by the 112 Andalucía service since last Saturday, according to the first vice president and councillor for Presidency, Health and Emergencies, Antonio Sanz.

Jaén, among the least hit provinces

In the province of Jaén, 12 of those 696 incidents have been recorded, only ahead of Huelva, with five. Almería was the most affected, with 180; it is followed by Cádiz, with 156, and Málaga, with 154. Between the three they add up to 490 emergencies, more than 70% of the Andalusian total. After them come Sevilla (84), Granada (62) and Córdoba (43). By type of alert, most have been natural risks, with 451 cases, above all flooding and waterlogging. There were also 74 anomalies in basic services, 46 rescues and saves, 43 traffic incidents, 34 collapses or falling elements, 13 traffic accidents and two medical assistances, as well as another 33 of a different nature.

Two roads remain cut in Córdoba

The Andalusian road network is gradually returning to normal. Only two roads in the province of Córdoba remain affected, with three sections cut:
  • The CO-4103, between kilometres 0 and 13, between Bujalance and Villa del Río.
  • The CO-4207, between kilometres 0 and 9.1, between Montilla and Montalbán de Córdoba, including the La Zarza bridge.
In Sevilla, the SE-6300 has reopened as it passes through Lebrija, which this Monday was still cut between kilometres 0 and 6.

Sparse rainfall overnight

The rainfall overnight has been minimal. The highest accumulations were recorded in Vejer de la Frontera (Cádiz), with 7.4 litres per square metre; Villarrodrigo (Jaén), with 2.6; Villanueva del Arzobispo (Jaén), with 1.6, and Córdoba-Prágdena, with 1.2. Sanz explained that the night passed "calmly", with barely a score of incidents at the end of the day and none during the early hours, and he thanked the public for their collaboration with the self-protection recommendations. These were spread through social media and via two ES-Alert messages in Almería.

Caution in the affected areas

Although the plan is deactivated, the Agencia de Emergencias de Andalucía asks people to remain cautious where the effects continue and to respect the signage on the cut roads.

The forecast for Jaén, day by day and hour by hour, is always up to date in the JaénYa weather section.
