Jabalcuz closes its centenary with a night of terror, a talk and a concert
The municipal Culture and Tourism Board closes the centenary programme of the Jardines de Jabalcuz this weekend, with a nighttime survival experience on Saturday, October 24, and, on Sunday, October 25, a lecture and a concert by the municipal Music Band.
The centenary of the Jardines de Jabalcuz comes to an end this weekend. On Saturday, October 24, a nighttime survival experience titled «Aguas muertas - Supervivencia en Jabalcuz» is held, organised by Xperience Stage. Participants will tour different areas of the grounds, interact with characters, solve challenges and have to escape from the creatures while completing the mission.
A night of horror cinema
The activity turns the gardens into the setting of a horror film. The plot places mayor Frank Darkmoor inaugurating the renovated thermal facilities before dozens of visitors, until the ecoterrorist Mandrágora contaminates the springs with an experimental biological compound.
There are survivor, infected and extreme survivor passes. Tickets can be purchased on the Xperience Stage page and sales are open from age 16.
Lecture and closing concert
On Sunday, October 25, at 11:30 a.m., the esplanade of the Casas Gemelas hosts the talk «El balneario de Jabalcuz, cien años de modernidad sobre planos ilustrados», by María José Sánchez Lozano, chronicler of Torres and secretary of the Real Sociedad Económica. At 12 noon, in the same place, the Banda municipal de Música de Jaén, conducted by Juany Martínez de la Hoz Casas, will offer the closing concert.
More than twenty activities
The centenary programme began last July and has brought together more than twenty activities, including concerts, guided and theatrical tours, gastronomic offerings, magic, gymkhanas, physical and wellness activities such as yoga, and lectures. According to the councillor for Culture and Tourism, María Espejo, these have been «these three intense months» that have fulfilled the goal of bringing this site closer to the population and making known its history, origin and evolution.
How to take part
For the nighttime experience on Saturday, October 24, you must purchase a ticket for the passes available on the Xperience Stage website; access is permitted from age 16. The lecture and concert on Sunday, October 25 are on the esplanade of the Casas Gemelas, at 11:30 a.m. and 12 noon respectively.
