The Plaza del Ayuntamiento in Linares hosts until November 12 the exhibition «Papel y Metal. 70 años de historia industrial», focused on the Metalúrgica Santana. The exhibition brings together original documentation from the factory and commemorates the 70th anniversary of the signing of the manufacturing agreements with Land Rover.

What can be seen

The tour is divided into several sections that review the stages of the history of the automobile factory since its origin as an agricultural machinery industry. Among the pieces on display there are 40 outdoor photographic panels, documents, plans, registration books, catalogues, mechanical parts and laboratory tooling, as well as around twenty off-road vehicles from different periods.

Opening hours and guided tours

The exhibition opens from 9:00 to 21:00 with free access. Guided tours will also be organised on a voluntary basis for schoolchildren and groups from the city, led by former workers of the factory.

The mayor's visit

The mayor, Auxi del Olmo, has visited the exhibition together with municipal representatives and members of the Asociación MSA, the Asociación Museo Metalúrgica Santana, the Club Rumbo Linarejos 4x4 and Santana Motors. Del Olmo has stated that the exhibition allows «learning about the industrial history of Santana, remembering those who made it possible and passing that legacy on to new generations».

You can go to the Plaza del Ayuntamiento in Linares during opening hours, from 9:00 to 21:00, with no ticket or registration, until November 12. Guided tours for schoolchildren and groups are organised on a voluntary basis and are led by former workers of the factory.
