Cazorla can be seen these months as it was a century ago and as it is now, in the same room. The Museo de Artes y Costumbres Populares del Alto Guadalquivir hosts the photography exhibition 'Cazorla Siglo XX', made up of 40 images from the private collection of photographer Pedro Gómez. Most are of unknown authorship. The photographs allow the old Cazorla to be compared with the current one. They focus above all on traditional customs and trades that have already disappeared, and also on buildings and physical spaces of the municipality. The exhibition can be visited until March 2027.

Trades that no longer exist

The tour does not stop at the landscape. A good part of the images portray jobs that are not done today and scenes of daily life back then, which turns the visit into a way of looking into how people lived in the municipality. Cazorla, in the Sierra de Cazorla region, has 6,930 inhabitants, according to 2025 INE data. The territorial delegate of Culture, Historical Heritage and Sport, José Ayala, has visited the exhibition, as reported by the Delegation. He was accompanied by the owner of the works and the mayor of the town. The exhibition is added to the province's cultural programme. The portal reported on November 5 that the Consejería de Cultura, Patrimonio Histórico y Deporte has gathered nearly a hundred activities in the regionally owned cultural spaces of Jaén during November, including workshops, concerts, exhibitions and guided visits.
