The territorial delegate for Health in Jaén, Lucía Mónica Pérez, has met for the first time with representatives of AJICAM to listen to their proposals and concerns and to open a channel of collaboration that allows possible improvements in the breast cancer screening programme to continue to be addressed.

Attention to the women in the programme

At the meeting, views were shared on the care of the women who take part in the screening programme and on the importance of continuing to improve information, communication during the different phases of the process and coordination between the different care levels. According to Lucía Mónica Pérez, the aim is «to maintain a fluid dialogue with AJICAM, to learn first-hand about the needs they raise with us and to work jointly on identifying possible areas for improvement». The delegate added that they want to give continuity to this collaboration and move forward progressively, analysing the proposals and assessing the actions that could help improve care for women.

On behalf of the Hospital Universitario de Jaén, its managing director, Belén Martínez, and the centre's medical director, Carmen Ortega, attended. Lourdes Ballesteros, head of Public Health at the territorial delegation, was also present.
