Anyone who wants to be part of the Local Civil Protection Volunteer Group of Orcera can now start the registration process. The Town Council presented the service on Monday, October 19 in the Salón de Plenos and, since the following day, has kept open the channel for submitting applications.
What is needed to register
The requirements are being at least 18 years old, preferably residing in Orcera or in the Sierra de Segura region, not being disqualified from public duties by a final judgment and having the appropriate psychophysical aptitude for civil protection tasks.
Along with the form, a photocopy of the DNI or NIE must be submitted. Optionally, copies of driving licences or qualifications related to emergencies, first aid or logistics may be provided.
Where the application is submitted
The form can be downloaded from the municipal website or collected at the Town Council offices, in the Plaza de la Iglesia. Once completed, it is registered at the Registro General of the council or through the Sede Electrónica.
Training before joining
Admitted persons join as Voluntariado en Prácticas and receive official, free basic training approved by the Instituto de Emergencias y Seguridad Pública de Andalucía or the Diputación de Jaén. This is the previous step to becoming a full active volunteer.
Support at events and emergencies
According to the Town Council, the group will provide preventive and operational support at public events, in adverse weather situations and in coordination during local emergencies. The council places this auxiliary volunteer structure in the context of the geographical, climatic and natural environment characteristics of the Sierra de Segura.
The Town Council invites citizens to take part in this project, which it defines as altruistic and supportive for the protection of the municipality and of the Sierra de Segura.
