The Tierra Viva exhibition can be visited in Martos. It brings together the audiovisual materials, testimonies and productions created by a group of women from the reading club of the La Silla de Anea workshop, who have worked on their relationship with the territory and the transformation of the rural environment.

Five narrative axes

The exhibition tour is organized around five ideas: living territory, wounds, repair, future and rural image. The voices and experiences of the participating women are at the center of the narrative. The work starts from the exhibition Terrafilia. Beyond the Human, open in 2025 at the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza, and from works in its collection. From there, the group has addressed memory, affections, transformations of the rural environment, wounds and care, and has imagined other possible futures through conversations, walks, writing, listening and collective creation.

A project since 2019

Narraciones is a project of the Education Area of the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza begun in 2019. Since 2021 it has worked with the Federación de Asociaciones de Mujeres Rurales (FADEMUR) with groups of rural women from different territories, connecting the museum's collections with their experiences, memories and knowledge. The inauguration was attended by the mayor of Martos, Emilio Torres; Begoña de la Riva, head of the Narraciones project; Rufino Ferreras, head of the Education Area of the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza; Teresa López, president of FADEMUR, and Ascensión Millán, from the La Silla de Anea workshop. Torres noted that «these stories occupy the place that corresponds to them: the center of an exhibition» and stated that Tierra Viva «not only takes us to the past, but also speaks to us of the future of our villages».
