Linares opens the 21st Ruta de la Tapa with 25 bars until November 15
Twenty-five establishments in Linares are taking part from this Friday, November 6, in the 21st Ruta de la Tapa, which will run until November 15.

Twenty-five hospitality establishments in Linares are taking part from this Friday, November 6, in the XXI Ruta de la Tapa, which will run until November 15. The prize-giving ceremony will be on November 19, within the II Encuentro Gastronómico «Linares, Capital Mundial de la Tapa», in which the chef Bosco Benítez will take part, according to the Ayuntamiento de Linares.
Anyone who wants to try the tapas and vote can do so in two ways: with the paper ruteros or through the Ruta mobile app. The public's votes also enter the draw for several gifts.
Five finalists and a jury with a wooden spoon
The competition's jury is once again the Muy Ilustre y Noble Orden de los Caballeros de la Cuchara de Palo, which will choose five finalist tapas, as has been happening for years.
The concejal-delegado de Comercio y Hostelería, Michel Rentero, has highlighted the work of the hospitality sector and its involvement in an activity that, in his view, contributes to the socio-economic revitalisation of Linares and is a tourist attraction. He has also thanked the sponsors for their collaboration.
A municipality of more than 55,000 inhabitants
Linares is the second most populous municipality in the province of Jaén, with 55,633 inhabitants according to the INE for 2025, and the capital of the Sierra Morena region. The Ruta de la Tapa reaches its twenty-first edition this year.
