Jaén now has a professional esports club. Epsilum eSports has been presented at the facilities of Misión Gaming Jaén El Banco, with the attendance of institutional representatives, content creators, media and fans of the sector. The club belongs to the Museo del Recreativo and was born with the idea of uniting the history of arcade machines and video games with current digital competition. According to the Ayuntamiento, the project aims to help boost talent and Jaén's projection in this field. On the sporting side, Epsilum eSports participates in the Liga Hispana de Clubes de Teamfight Tactics, where it has placed among the top positions in the standings. The team thus expands the work of the Museo del Recreativo, which goes from preserving and disseminating the history of video games to also entering their competitive side. The club also seeks to create a community around esports and bring this industry closer to new audiences. The mayor of Jaén, Julio Millán, has described the proposal as «interesting and attractive» and has stated that initiatives like this help project «an image of a dynamic city, open to innovation». The councillor for Employment, Luis García Millán, has highlighted that video games and esports represent «a field with significant growth potential and new professional opportunities, especially for younger generations». García Millán has added that the team aspires to be among the four most important in Spain and for Jaén to be its headquarters. The presentation was also attended by the government subdelegate, Manuel Fernández Palomino; the territorial delegate for Industry, Javier Calvente, and the vice-rector for Permanent Training, Educational Technologies and Teaching Innovation of the Universidad de Jaén (UJA), Francisco Roca.
